Autumn McAlpin, an Orange County resident, is a producer who got her start in Laguna Woods. She had participated in a screening in Laguna Woods, and a year later, long-term resident Mary Strauss approached Autumn about doing a national PSA campaign for the Parkinson’s Disease Association. The campaign has received national attention and has successfully raised funds for the cause.

Autumn has recently produced a Waffle Street, a feature film based on the memoir by James Adams, starring Danny Glover and James Lafferty. Filmed in 2014, the film went on the festival circuit and won several awards, and has now been acquired for worldwide distribution!

Worldwide distribution is a satisfying achievement, especially because producing films is long and hard workWaffle Street took five years to make. “I’m learning it’s all about finding the timing,” Autumn says. But in the end, “It’s the person with the passion who gets it done.”
